ELITS is now looking for a Radio Integration Engineer for our operations in Ottawa.

Are you an accomplished engineer eager to drive innovation in radio technology? Join our collaborative team, where you will work on the design, integration, and performance optimization of new hardware and software radio products in a dynamic lab setting.

You will:

• Collaborate with a focused team to design, test, and troubleshoot new radio hardware and software, ensuring products meet all functional and performance requirements.

• Prepare and maintain laboratory environments, including both hardware and software components.

• Integrate multiple digital and analog radio frequency (RF) designs into working product prototypes.

• Take responsibility for the functional and performance integration of new products.

• Develop calibration routines and performance optimization procedures.

• Define necessary test coverage for product integration.

• Implement test automation and validation methods using Python or Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB) scripting.

• Analyze results, provide input for product design improvements, identify potential design issues, and guide future system development.

• Perform statistical analysis of measurement data to inform product decisions.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field; bachelor’s degree with relevant experience also considered.

• More than five years of experience designing, developing, or integrating radio products.

• Experience working with Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards.

• Proven leadership in understanding complex radio development and guiding experienced RF engineers.

• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

• Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient object-oriented programming abilities (Python; C++ is an asset).

• Scripting skills in MATLAB are an asset.

• RF engineering expertise is advantageous.

• Initiative, energy, and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced product development environment.

• Proficient English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Additional assets:

• Experience with laboratory equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.

• In-depth knowledge of wireless communication standards.

• Understanding of analog and digital hardware building blocks.
